Traditional kimonos fell out of fashion after the Japanese started adopting Western styles during the late 19th Century, but kimonos regained their popularity for many reasons, the most important one being their versatility: they can be layered or altered to suit every season and moment, and have been reinvented through the use of different fabrics. This is the case of the Kyoto, a kimono-inspired robe made of light cotton, perfect for a windy day out sailing.
